In the tropic heat, with temperatures above thirty degrees, there was a concert at the 'Blauwe Salon' for the residents of the canal and other guests last Saturday.
The ensemble Musicuore played works of Mozart, Reger, Villa-Lobos, Beethoven en Pleyel. The music was variegated but the ladies also alternated: at first a flute quartet, then a string trio, duo (violin and cello) and a flute trio. This worked out well because with the tropical temperatures last Saturday, there was always an opportunity for someone to have a brief moment to cool down. And the string instruments, which are very sensitive to high temperatures, were continually being tuned in the adjoining room. The audience, in the meanwhile, fulfilled its own role by applauding with great enthusiasm and consequently raised the temperature even further everytime a composer was completed.
During the first part of the concert, the period garden behind the house had already cooled down a little bit by a short but refreshing shower. So in the short interval, the visitors were able to go outside and cool down with a cool glas of wine.
After the concert most of the listeners returned to the garden for a cool glas of wine and a piece of fresh strawberry pie.
