A closer look at Jan van Goyen
Two weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon, a painters club visited the Jan van Goyen House for a tour, as the last part of their Jan van Goyen project. The group was lead by René Klarenbeek, a painter specialised in the painting techniques of Rembrandt and his contemporaries. Mr Klarenbeek has given numerous painting and drawing lessons to both local artists and artists from abroad. This particular group of nine enthousicastic participants had followed a module of "landscape painting", centered around the work of Jan van Goyen. Over the past several weeks, they had spent many hours studying the special techniques of this legendary 17th century artist.
After the tour at the Jan van Goyen House, the group raised their glass on the boat of the café downstairs.
