It is finally upon us and we are loving it!Last Saturday two events took place at the canal, which were both thoroughly enjoyed by the locals and our expats. Some of us even stayed around the entire day as we visited the different gardens, cafés and terraces. | The first event was 'Markt op de Gracht' (which translates into Market at the Canal). There were no cars to be found at the canal and several old barques (boats) were docked in the water. From here fresh fruits, vegetables and other produce were sold. More local products were also available from nice little stalls all around the canal. | Secondly, it was also the 'Dag van de Architectuur' (which translates into the Day of Architecture). This year a "buurt-biënnale" was added to this. All the houses in our little block were in the spot light. All day long, curious explorers wandered around the local church and gardens. |
